Born in Asunción, Paraguay, en 1973
He trained in the workshops of Olga Blinder, Livio Abrazo, and Edith Jiménez, in addition to completing a degree in Communication Sciences at the Universidad Católica “Nuestra Señora de la Asunción.” He attended courses and workshops led by Dorothee Willert, Ticio Escobar, Luis Felipe Noe, Nuno Ramos, José Resende, Joao Rossi, Juan Carlos Crematta, Mickey Wella, and Oscar Manesi. For eight years, from 2000, he was part of the seminars “Identidades en Tránsito,” “Crítica Cultural,” and “Espacio/Crítica” at the Centro de Artes Visuales/Museo del Barro, coordinated by Ticio Escobar.
He has regularly exhibited individually since 1995, as well as participating in group exhibitions both in Paraguay and abroad. He has completed artistic residencies at Maison Jean Chevolleau, Fontaine-le-Comte, France (Embassy of France, Gente de Arte, Matisse Prize, 2001), Puerto Casado, Paraguayan Chaco (Valentina Bonifacio Project, Marie Curie Scholarship in conjunction with Parsons New School, New York, Ca’Foscari University of Venice, and CAV/Museo del Barro de Asunción, 2016), and Bar Projet, Barcelona (Invernadero Project, Centro Cultural de España en Asunción, 2019).
He is a member of the interdisciplinary collective Ediciones de la URA, along with visual artists, musicians, and writers. He is the founder and coordinator of the Cabichu’i Printmaking Workshop.
He has received the Pedro Agüero Prize (Fundación Pedro Agüero, 1995), Young Art Salon (Diario La Nación, 1997), Henri Matisse Prize (Embassy of France, 2000), Invernadero Prize (Centro Cultura de España Juan de Salazar, 2018), and the Oxígeno Art Fair Acquisition Prize (2022).
He has participated in the Mercosur Biennials in Porto Alegre (1997 and 2015), Cuenca (1998), Curitiba (2017), Asunción (2015), Havana (2019), and Santo Domingo (1997).
His work is represented in national and international private collections and institutions such as the Centro de Artes Visuales/Museo del Barro.
